Wind Energy
The county’s comprehensive plan supports the continued development of wind energy systems, identifies the need for increased transmission capacity, and includes implementation policies for wind energy objectives. It discusses the history and current conditions of wind energy in the county (5.4.2). It finds that wind generation is at or exceeds current transmission infrastructure. It tailors its land use code to promote alternative energy development (1.9 Policy 16).
